National Merchants Association’s Veronica Vargas Chosen For ETA Committee

Risk analyst and payments expert chosen to help transform professional development in the industry

TEMECULA, Calif. Jan. 3, 2019 — Veronica Vargas, ETA CPP, Risk Analyst II, National Merchants Association (NMA), has been selected to serve on the Electronic Transactions Association’s (ETA) Professional Development Committee.

According to ETA, “The Professional Development Committee is responsible for recommending and directing the professional development activities and educational programming of the association through various standing and ad hoc working groups. The committee recommends and develops program content and delivery methods (e.g. online, live, audio, etc.) for seminars, training sessions, workshops, distance learning offerings and ETA University curriculum for all educational forums. You are asked to participate in monthly conference calls from January – December 2018, and meet in person at TRANSACT and another ETA event as possible.”

Vargas’s payments career began in 2016 when she first joined the NMA team. Shortly after, she became an active ETA member – receiving her ETA CPP certification in 2017. Vargas is also an active member of the Women’s Network in Electronic Transactions (Wnet).

“Veronica is a key member of our Risk department,” says NMA CEO, Heather Altepeter. “She’s one of the primary reasons we’re able to stand behind our slogan of High Risk Done Right.”

Vargas is excited about her most recent appointment and is looking forward to growing the committee’s professional development initiatives and programs.

“At NMA, we’re dedicated to advocacy, expertise, and integrity in the industry,” says Vargas. “I’m so excited to see how that dedication spills into my work as a committee member.”
