TEMECULA, Calif. – April 13, 2018 — Adding to its growing list of accomplishments in one of the company’s most expansive and transformative years to date, National Merchants Association (NMA) is being recognized for significant contributions to the payments industry with three Star Awards nominations from Electronic Transactions Association (ETA).

On Wednesday, April 4, 2018, ETA, the world’s largest payments industry trade group, announced that NMA and Marketing Director, Lindsay Sugarman, ETA CPP, are finalists for awards in three separate categories: ISO (Independent Sales Organization) of the Year, Committee Volunteer of the Year, and Pay It Forward.

According to ETA, the Star Awards recognize and showcase individuals and companies that have made a substantial difference in the payments industry through innovation, business practices, or contributions to the association.

Since 2004, NMA has demonstrated unwavering dedication to merchant advocacy on Capitol Hill, industry-leading technology, innovative partner management solutions, philanthropic initiatives, and staff-led trainings geared toward advancing the professional lives of those in the payments industry. This commitment has earned the company two Committee Volunteer of the Year awards in recent years –– including one awarded to CEO Heather Petersen in 2015. Each nomination and award is motivation for NMA to continue providing best-in-class solutions, while driving the payments industry forward.

“As an industry leader and active ETA member, these nominations are meaningful acknowledgments of NMA’s proactive position within the payments industry, and the game-changing technological innovations we’ve developed to propel the industry forward,” says CEO Heather Petersen.

“Through strategic partnerships, merchant advocacy, unmatched service offerings and community development, we are setting and exceeding high expectations to drive a stronger, ethical and innovative industry.”

This year’s award winners and inductees will be formally announced on stage at the President’s Dinner and Star Awards Gala during ETA’s TRANSACT, April 17 – 19, 2018, in Las Vegas. NMA is a TRANSACT Silver Sponsor.
